How is the festival organized?
The festival is organized as a non-profit organization and all work on the festival is voluntary. The board of the festival is made up of 4 persons who all have different connections to the LGBTQ+ community and to the island of Aeroe. We all share in a belief that Aeroe Rainbow Family Festival will be a great family holiday and that it has the potential of being more than a sum of its parts, and will be able to create community for alternative families across borders.
The support of clubs, small businesses and individuals is essential for the facilitation of the festival’s many parts. Individuals donate their time, businesses their resources and clubs their space, time and knowledge. A great thanks goes out to everyone who believes in the project of creating a festival for all LGBTQ+ families on the island of Aeroe.
Larger businesses have been asked to sponsor the festival in exchange for advertising, so check the website to find who supports the festival or keep an eye open for the official sponsorship sticker in stores.
Small activity-based businesses have been offered the opportunity to exchange one free activity that becomes part of the festival program in exchange for including one of their regular activities in the program at normal cost. For this reason, certain things in the program include an additional fee.
